This policy explains how SkipBorders ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our website and services at skipborders.com.
1. What We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to deliver the service.
Quiz Responses
When you take our quiz, we collect your answers: nationality, destination country, work situation, timeline, and family status. This data is used to personalize your free result and, if you purchase, your guide.
Email Address
If you choose to save your quiz results or make a purchase, we collect your email address. We use it to:
- Deliver your personalized guide (download link + email with PDF attached)
- Send a short email nurturing sequence (max 5 emails) with relocation tips
- Communicate about your purchase if needed
You can unsubscribe from nurturing emails at any time via the link in each email.
Purchase Data
When you buy a guide, Stripe (our payment processor) handles your payment details. We never see or store your card number. We store: your email, the route purchased, the amount paid, and Stripe transaction identifiers.
Usage Data
Google Analytics collects anonymized usage data (page views, browser type, referrer). IP anonymization is enabled. If you decline cookies, analytics is disabled and its cookies are removed.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Generate and deliver your personalized relocation guide
- Show your free quiz result
- Send nurturing emails (only if you provided your email)
- Process payments via Stripe
- Understand how visitors use the site (anonymized analytics)
- Prioritize new routes based on aggregated, anonymized quiz data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under GDPR, we process your data based on:
- Contract performance (Article 6(1)(b)): processing your quiz responses and email to generate and deliver your guide.
- Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)): anonymized analytics to improve the service, and aggregated quiz data to prioritize new routes.
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)): marketing/nurturing emails (you can withdraw consent at any time via the unsubscribe link) and analytics cookies.
5. Data Storage and Security
- All data is stored on AWS infrastructure in the EU (Ireland, eu-west-1).
- Database connections are encrypted. S3 storage is private, accessible only via time-limited signed URLs.
- We do not store payment card details. Stripe handles all payment data.
- We never log personal data, tokens, or request bodies.

7. Your Rights

- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated

8. No User Accounts
SkipBorders does not have user accounts, login, passwords, or sessions. Your email is the only identifier. There are no authentication cookies.

SkipBorders is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the site.
